Black Magic ATEM 2 M/E FOH Directors Flypack w/Custom LED Logo Lights
The custom FOH director’s video flypack is based around a Black Magic ATEM 2 M/E broadcast panel. The case is designed for live switching positioned at FOH. The case features a slide out shelf with the ATEM 2 M/E panel, 2 foldable monitor arms, drawers and custom color changing LED lights with the company logo routed in.
Black Magic Smartview 4K Imperial monitors are used in the system. These monitors are mounted on a custom-built slide track allowing them to slide left/right and up/down to accommodate users seated or standing at various positions. The monitors are mounted on position control friction hinges allowing them to pivot along a 180-degree plane without the need for additional support or a “ratcheting” style arm. Below the monitors are dual 1U rack sections.
The Black Magic ATEM 2 M/E broadcast panel is recessed into a slide out shelf. The shelf is built from ¾” Baltic Birch plywood finished with black textured coating. The shelf features multi-position latch system allowing it to be extended and locked into various positions in 1” increments. The shelf also features a custom piece of routed foam as a wrist rest.
Below the slide out shelf is a 9U rack section and 3 HD drawers. Each drawer is built from ½” Baltic Birch, mounted on HD Accuride glides and finished with black texture coating. The drawer faces are built from the same Hexagrip material as the exterior case. 2 female XLR jacks are provided for additional customer supplied lighting.
The most striking feature of this case are the custom routed LED logo panels. Each panel features the company’s logo routed into 1” clear acrylic. LED lights are fit into a custom track that is routed into the acrylic. The panels are designed to be modular and removable if needed. The lights are terminated to 4 pin XLR jacks. A custom power supply mounted into a 1U chassis powers the 2 light modules and also stores the LED remote control.
The exterior case is built from ½” plywood with Hexagrip laminate. Penn corner stock handles are used for additional functionality. The case rides on 6” field casters and features deep recessed hardware.
