Boeing F18 Flight Simulator Case
This case was designed to hold the forward portion of a Boeing F18 flight simulator for use during trade shows. The case features a 2" PE foam lined interior wrapped in black carpet to allow for shock absorption and durability.
The case features a 1/4" aluminum ramp and floor plate that allows the flight simulator to simply roll into the case. The exterior is built out of 1/2" plywood laminated with blue fiberglass. All seams and rivet holes are caulked to "mist proof" the case. Valance spanning latches were used to allow for a contiguous mate of the tongue and groove with out gaps that standard latches create. The tongue and groove features a O-Ring to aid in the "mist proofing" of the case. The bottom of the case is supported by a 3/4" birch bottom pad laminated with 1/4" aluminum; under the pad are custom 1/4" aluminum feet that feature welded gussets for strength. The feet are designed to accommodate forklifts to aid in the moving of the case that measures 46" wide by 92" deep by 75" tall. The case also featured our proprietary 1/4" aluminum forklift guard along the bottom of the case.
