Roland V800 Video Flypack Workstation w/Articulating Monitor Arm
This case was built for Headline Productions as a central video processing system for corporate events. The system is based around a Roland V800 video switcher. The flypack features Dell H2418T touch monitor mounted on a custom-built articulating monitor arm. A shock mounted 16U rack section is included for equipment.
The Roland V800 switcher is mounted in a custom slide out drawer. The switcher is rack mounted within the drawer. A foam arm rest with beveled edges is provided for operator comfort.
The Dell 24” monitor is mounted to a custom articulating mount. The mount features a hinged pole, allowing it to be folded during transport. This allows a smaller lid and overall form factor. The monitor features a custom power/signal loom that contains 2 HDMI’s, and a locking IEC power cable built from 14/3 SJO cable. The cables within the loom are labeled at both ends with heat shrink labels. The monitor is stored in a non-abrasive crosslink foam lined compartment with the articulating portion of the mount attached. The case interior allows for the monitor arm to be secured during transport as to not interfere with the switcher or the monitor.
A 16U shock mounted rack section is provided for additional equipment storage. The sides of the rack section feature LM Tour Systems 46-534 courtesy outlet boxes. These boxes provide 4 Edison AC outlets, 2 USB A, and 2 USB C charging outlets per case side. The boxes also provide 2 D-series punches for connectors. The boxes are mounted on the left and right sides of the case at table height. The front case lid is equipped with table legs, the 46-534 boxes are placed at working height to provide courtesy power and an IO point for team members working on the table. The rack’s rear trap door is a split design: The top portion opens to allow full access to all of the equipment. The bottom portion hinges down for cable entry and exit. This bottom portion allows the top door to remain closed during events for a cleaner look.
The case exterior is built from ½” plywood laminated with black ABS plastic and features 2 color silkscreen prints of the Headline Productions logo. The case features deep recessed hardware and rides on 4” x 2” Colson casters.
