University Of Kansas Sports Nutrition Trunk
This trunk was designed for the University of Kansas sports nutrition department. The trunk is designed to transport food and act as a dispenser once at the venue.
The trunk’s hinged top lid features a large white board. The lid is supported by 2 gas springs that assist the user in opening and closing the lid in addition to keeping the lid open and upright during use.
The main work surface of the trunk features 2 removable wire baskets for fruit. These baskets feature custom brackets that allow them to hang off of the case sides. The brackets are CNC cut to contour the drafted shape of the basket allowing them to sit flat against the case sides. 15 cubby compartments are provided for granola, and energy bar storage and dispensing.
Four heavy duty drawers are provided for storage. Each drawer is built out of ½” Baltic Birch plywood, mounted on HD Accuride glides, and finished with black texture coating. Each drawer features removable ½” marine grade plastic dividers that split them into 4 compartments.
A 35qt Yeti cooler is provided for cold storage. The cooler is placed on a slide out shelf allowing easy loading and unloading. A custom cut panel is mounted at the bottom of the shelf to trap the cooler by its feet to keep it stable during use and transport.
The trunk features front & back removable lids. Heavy duty table legs are mounted in each lid. The trunk is built from ½” plywood laminated with black ABS plastic. The trunk rides on 4” Colson casters and featured deep recessed hardware.
