Yale Univ. Football Pads/Spints/Castings Trunk
This custom athletic trainer’s trunk was built for Yale University. The trunk holds pads, splints & castings for the Yale University football team.
The trunk lid features 3 clear Lexan storage compartments. Each compartment is built from 3/8” clear Lexan and features 3 internal dividers. Each lid is secured with a HD Southco® latch. Two additional storage compartments are provided in the lid. These compartments are built from black, ½” marine grade plastic and featured hinged doors with Southco® latches. A stainless-steel medical glove dispenser is included in the lid. The lid is finished with black textured coating and is supported by gas springs.
The trunk’s main work surface is built from black ½” marine grade plastic. The work surface is mounted on hinges and features 2 stainless steel pull handles to access a storage compartment located below. Below the work surface are 6 drawers. The drawers are built into a ½” plywood shell that is isolated from the exterior case via PE foam. Each drawer is built from ½” Baltic Birch plywood, is mounted on HD Accuride® glides and finished with black textured coating. The top two drawers feature LM’s movable tech dividers. The bottom 4 drawers are open for general storage.
The trunk exterior is built from ½” plywood laminated with Navy Blue ABS plastic. The drawer section is protected by a removable flat panel lid. This lid features custom hangers allowing it to be stored on the back of the trunk during use. The trunk features deep recessed hardware and rides on 8” field casters.
