Custom Case For 2 Hannay AV2 Cable Reels w/Hidden Trap Doors

This cable reel case was built by LM Cases for AV Technik to hold 2 Hannay AV2 Reels. The unique design features 2 hidden trap doors allowing cable to be pulled while the pull over lid remains on the case.

Each reel is mounted to a custom board with rubber feet. This allows the reels to be used outside of the case with isolation, so the metal frame is not directly resting on the ground. The rubber feet allow cable to be pulled from the reel without moving the reel assembly. The boards are designed to lock into a 2.5” PE foam bottom in the case tray by trapping their feet.

The case features 2 hidden trap doors that interlock with the mating tongue and groove aluminum. Each door uses position control friction hinges allowing them to remain in a fixed position and not interfere with pulling cable. These trap doors allow the top pull over lid to remain on the case during use which is ideal for corporate gigs to conceal the reels or for outdoor OB applications.

The exterior case is built from 3/8” plywood laminated with black ABS plastic. The case is truck pack with exterior dimensions of 30” wide x 22.5” deep which allows it to be third pack by quarter pack. The case features 4 deep recessed handles and stacking caster wells allowing like sized cases to stack interchangeably. The case rides on 4” Colson casters, all featuring locking brakes. The casters are mounted via a full sized ¾” caster board. The case features a custom silkscreen with the AV Teknik logo and ID stencils.
