24ch IEM Rack w/Mic Split Panel
This custom, fully integrated in ear monitor rack was built for Spirit Of The Bear. The system is based around a Behringer X Air XR18 mixer. It includes a Shure PSM300 IEM transmitter, a Luxul router, Unifi access point, a modified Tripp Lite RS1215 and a custom built 24ch mic splitter panel with a custom laser etching of the band’s logo.
The band opted to use their XR18 mixer for the project allowing for 16 inputs. The band shares 2 mixes via the Shure PSM300 configured in dual mono. Custom LM Tour Systems purple Starquad mic cables route the aux outputs to the IEM transmitter. A Luxul multi-wan ABR 4500 router with a Unifi long range access point was provided for wireless access. The router’s rack ears were modified to have 2 additional Neutrik Cat6 jacks for WAN and LAN access for the system.
Power is handled by a modified Tripplite RS1215 power distribution unit. The unit is modified to have a Powercon inlet on the front panel to power the system. A LM Tour Systems Powercon power cable was provided.
Audio is handled via a custom built 24ch, 1:2 split panel modified to have the band's logo laser etched. The panel features gold plated Neutrik XLR jacks. The audio is divided into groups of 8 using Mogami multicore tails terminated with gold plated XLR connectors. Each group of 8 are color coded with green, blue and gray Neutrik BXX boots.
The case used for this project is a LM Cases 8 Space, 14” deep rack.
Special thanks to Spirit Of The Bear for a great project. Check out their Live From LM Cases performance!
