Roland V-160HD Compact Switcher Flypack

This custom flypack case was designed and manufactured by LM Cases for the Roland V-160HD video switcher. The compact workstation integrates the video switcher, monitor mounting provisions, and cable management into a single portable enclosure designed for live production and broadcast applications.

The switcher is mounted using its factory rack ears to 5RU of angled rack rail, providing a comfortable operating position while maintaining a compact footprint. The rack assembly is supported by rubber vibration-damping isolation mounts to help protect the switcher from shock and vibration during transportation.

A hinged cable management cover constructed from 1/2" black marine-grade plastic is positioned behind the switcher. This cover conceals the internal wiring while providing convenient access to cable connections when needed. Two side-mounted cable hatches allow power, video, and control cabling to enter and exit the workstation without compromising its clean appearance.

The hinged lid is designed to accommodate a user-installed monitor and features a pre-drilled 100mm VESA mounting pattern. The monitor compartment provides space for most 22" displays, with an available mounting area of approximately 19" wide x 12" tall x 2.5" deep. A dedicated cable pass-through allows monitor wiring to be routed directly into the switcher compartment.

The exterior is constructed from 3/8" plywood laminated with ABS and features medium ball corners and a deep recessed handle. The finished case measures approximately 23.89" wide x 17.69" deep x 11.89" tall.

By combining shock-mounted equipment installation, integrated monitor mounting, and concealed cable management, this flypack provides a practical solution for video production environments requiring a compact, transportable control workstation.
