Florida Panthers Hockey Athletic Trainers Medical Trunk
This custom heavy duty workstation designed for the athletic trainers at the Florida Panthers Hockey Team was built by LM Cases. The workstation is designed to hold medical items used by the training staff.
The trunk lid features 2 removable Milwaukee Pack Out Bins designed for small items. These units lock into place via a back board and can be removed and brought to a player who needs attention. The lid also features 2 clear brackets designed to hold medical latex gloves. The lid is supported by gas springs and recessed lid stays. These springs assist in opening and closing the lid. They also keep the lid open when staff are using the Pack Out bins and glove holders.
The main work surface is built from ½” white marine grade plastic. White was chosen as a color to provide a high contrast surface to see small items. Below the worksurface are 4 drawers. Each drawer is built from ½” Baltic Birch finished with black textured coating. The drawers are mounted on HD Accuride slides. Each drawer features a ½” composite face laminated with navy blue ABS and features a recessed pull handle. Each drawer features the same width of 22.75” and depth of 18”. The top 2 drawers are 3.5” tall and feature configurable divider networks. The drawers are split in half front to back and come with 12 - ¼” marine grade plastic dividers to configure as needed. The middle drawer is 7” tall and is open for general storage. The bottom drawer is 11.625” tall and features a removable dowel caddy for tape rolls. The caddy is built from ½” marine grade plastic and features 15 pegs to store tape.
The case closure style (known as P-style) features 2 front hinged doors. These doors provide additional storage compartments. The left door features 4 compartments that are 11.5” wide x 7” tall x 4.625” deep. These are built from .375” clear Lexan plastic and each compartment features a hinged door with a Southco slam latch. The right lid features 18 clear tilting bins for additional small item storage. The case exterior is built from LM’s lightweight ½” composite panels laminated with navy blue ABS plastic. The hardware set includes a pad-lockable hasp latch and 12 deep recessed handles including 2 handles mounted in the caster board. The case is intended to be flipped as needed to travel on a commercial plane, bus or truck. The exterior features ½” marine grade plastic runners allowing use for these transportation configurations and to prevent becoming caught on conveyer belts. The case rides on 6 – 4” Colson casters mounted via a ¾” plywood caster board.

University of Houston Medical Trunk
This trunk was built for the University of Houston football training staff. The case is designed to be a mobile work station that holds a variety of training accessories and mecdical tools. The trunk lid features six Tilt Lock bin units (NOTE - these are now discontinued) that provide twelve individual storage compartments for small parts. The Tilt Lock bins feature translucent plastic that allow users to quickly see the contents of each bin at eye level. The lid is supported with gas springs that aid in the opening and closing of the lid. One of the two gas springs feature a locking mechanism to prevent the lid from accidentally closing during use. The main work surface is built out of clear 3/8" scratch resistant Lexan, which allows users to see the contents of the drawers mounted below. The main body of the case features four drawers. The drawers are built into a 1/2" plywood inner shell that is independent of the exterior case. The separate shell allows the drawers to be independent from the exterior case, which allows the appearance of a cleaner exterior due to the lack of exposed rivets used for mounting the drawers. It also prevents any flexing or loading that the case exterior endures from transferring to the drawer glides. Each drawer is custom built out of 1/2" Baltic Birch plywood and mounted on HD Accuride glides. The top two drawers feature two dividers allowing each drawer to be divided into three compartments. The bottom two drawers feature a single center divider allowing two compartments. Each compartment in the top two drawers is 11.25" wide x 21" deep x 7.5" tall. The bottom drawer compartments are 17.125" wide x 21" deep x 7.5" tall.

Clothes are contained in the hanging section by a heavy duty 3/8” thick clear Lexan door. Below the hanging section is one heavy duty drawer with removable marine grade plastic dividers for clothing and miscellaneous items.

Each drawer is built from ½” Baltic Birch plywood and mounted on HD Accuride drawer glides. The top left 2 drawers each feature 4 compartments with removable ½” marine grade black plastic dividers. Each compartment is 4” wide x 21.5” deep x 7” tall. The middle third drawer is split into quadrants. Each quadrant measures 8.625” wide x 10.375” deep x 13” tall. The bottom 2 drawers are split into 16 compartments each with removable dividers. When the drawer is configured into 16 compartments; each compartment measures: 4” wide x 5” deep x 13” tall.
