Miller Audio Industries Touring Production Manager Office Workstation

The LM Cases Custom Touring Production Office Workstation is a fully integrated mobile workspace designed for production managers, tour managers, and other touring professionals who need a complete office environment that can travel from venue to venue.

Originally built for Miller Audio Industries, this workstation combines a full-size desk, dual-monitor support, computer and equipment rack spaces, integrated AC power, network distribution, printer storage, and general-purpose drawers into a single road-ready package. The main case measures approximately 74" wide and is designed around a standard 30" desktop height, allowing the workstation to feel like a conventional office desk once deployed. 

A large slide-out work surface provides ample room for laptops, paperwork, communication equipment, and other production essentials. The desktop is laminated with a smooth black Formica surface, providing a durable writing and working area instead of the textured finishes typically found on road cases. Locking drawer slides secure the work surface during use and transport. 

Two fully articulating monitor mounts support the workstation's dual-display configuration. The mounts can extend, swivel, and rotate between landscape and portrait orientation, while folding down for transportation. Integrated HDMI and DisplayPort cabling routes directly through the work surface for a clean installation. 

Power and data connectivity are integrated throughout the workstation. Dual recessed desktop connection boxes provide AC power, USB-A and USB-C charging, PowerCON connectivity, and locking etherCON network connections. Separate power and network inlet locations are provided on both the rear and side of the case, allowing the workstation to be positioned against a wall or operated in an open production office without inconvenient cable routing. 

A built-in LM Tour Systems GTS10A transfer switch allows the operator to select between the side or rear AC inlet while preventing the unused inlet from being back-fed. A center-off position disconnects both sources, while status indicators provide visual confirmation of available power. 

The workstation includes a 6RU shock-mounted equipment rack along with two additional 1RU rack sectionsintegrated beneath the desktop. The 1RU spaces can accommodate equipment such as Sonnet Mac mini rack systems, communication equipment, interfaces, or other production hardware. Internal power connections are pre-routed to simplify installation and eliminate unnecessary extension cords within the case. 

Network distribution is also built directly into the system. Two eight-port PoE network switches distribute Ethernet throughout the workstation, including connections to the desktop, computer rack locations, printer compartment, auxiliary devices, and the external network inlet panels. Internal Cat6 cables are custom-built and individually labeled to simplify troubleshooting and service in the field. 

A dedicated slide-out printer compartment provides secure transportation and operation of a full-size production printer. A custom CNC-machined retention system prevents the printer from moving laterally during transport, while additional foam support controls vertical movement. Integrated USB, Ethernet, and AC connections allow the printer to remain part of the workstation's permanent infrastructure. 

Three heavy-duty storage drawers provide additional space for office supplies, cables, adapters, communication equipment, and other production accessories. The drawers are constructed from Baltic birch, mounted on heavy-duty Accuride slides, and finished in LM's durable black texture coating. 

The removable top lid also serves as storage for the workstation's table legs, keeping the components contained with the case during transportation. Both the top and front lids are removable for fast deployment. 

Dedicated Monitor Cases

For this configuration, each 27" display travels in its own Pelican 1650 monitor case with a custom LM Cases foam interior. The monitor is transported face-up in a multi-layer foam system incorporating polyethylene and cross-linked foam, with non-abrasive XLPE foam positioned against the display surface to protect the screen. A dedicated cavity allows the monitor mounting hardware to remain attached and protected during transportation. 

The custom insert uses multiple layers of ester, polyethylene, and XLPE foam engineered around the monitor and mounting assembly rather than relying on generic pick-and-pluck foam.
