8U Noise Isolating Rugged Portable Server Rack
This rugged portable server rack was designed for the US Army. The custom case features a separate 2U section for a KVM, 8U for servers and a 4U patch section.
The KVM section is located above the main server rack. The section features 2U pre-tapped 10/32” rails at the front and a secondary mid mount set 28.5” back from the front. A third rear rail set is also included for a maximum mounting depth of 34”.
The main 8U rack section features a foam isolated, shock mounted rack shell built from ½” plywood. This rack features a 3/8” clear vented Lexan front door and an opaque ½” marine grade plastic rear door with 2 fans. The ultra-quiet fans run at 18 dBA and feature a total airflow rating of 104 CFM which results in the air in the rack being changed 6.5 times per min. The fans are controlled by a 1U module located in the 4U bottom patch section. Min/max temperature thresholds can be set at the user’s discretion. A temperature probe is included and can be mounted at the server’s exhaust fans or wherever the user desires.
The LM Cases Custom Integration department handle the installation and specification of the rack fans and power distribution. A LM Tour Systems 2U 15amp inlet rack panel is provided to bring power and network signals into the case. The panel features a HD locking Cat6 jack for the WAN connection in addition to 2 blank ports for future expansion. A HD 25ft tactical Cat6 cable is provided. This cable features a locking Ethercon connector to mate with the Cat6 jack on the panel in addition to a protected RJ45 connector to interface with non-locking network equipment. A 25ft HD 12awg power cable is also provided. A 12 outlet PDU is included in the rack section that features 6 front & 6 rear outlets.
The exterior case is built from ½” plywood laminated with black ABS plastic. Exterior features include 12 deep recessed handles, a recessed shipping label plate and 6” all terrain casters (2 locking)
