Chicago Bears Athletic Trainer’s Hotel Trunk
This custom athletic trainer’s trunk was built for the Chicago Bears to be used in their hotel facilities while travelling.
The lid features 1 custom storage units with 6 compartments built from ½” marine grade plastic. The front of this unit is built from 3/8” clear Lexan and has Southco slam latches. The right side of the lid features 4 rows of Tilt Lock bins (Tilt Lock bins are a legacy product that are no longer available, substitute locking bins are available). The lid is assisted by gas springs to aid in opening and closing. The springs also keep the lid in an open position during use.
The trunk features two drawers. The top drawer of the trunk can be accessed with traditional drawer glides or by the hinged 3/8” Lexan worksurface. The Lexan cover utilizes position control hinges to keep the cover in the open position without the need for support hardware. Both drawers feature 12 individual compartments that are 10.813” x 4.75 The dividers are removable and are constructed of marine grade plastic. The drawers are built into a ½” plywood shell that is independent from the exterior case wall. Each drawer is built from ½” Baltic Birch plywood, mounted on HD Accuride glides and finished with black textured coating. Below the drawers is an open carpet lined compartment to fit a customer supplied Pelican 1637 plastic case
The trunk’s removable lid features 2 carpet lined storage compartments that are composed of marine grade plastic. The doors to these storage areas feature Southco latches.
The trunk exterior is built from 1/2” composite panel material laminated with navy blue ABS plastic. The trunk featured deep recessed hardware and rides on 4” Colson casters with the front 2 locking.
