Modular Dance Costume Display Case For Trade Shows
This case was built for Discount Dance Supply for use at trade shows and conventions. The case is designed to be fully configurable allowing flexibility and scalability to handle a diverse selection of shows.
The modular concept is built around an outer case and inner inserts. The outer case can be used for hanging clothes or be configured with the removable inserts for more specialized storage. The outer case interior is lined with ½” white marine grade plastic for maximum durability and a clean look. Each of the 2 main sections feature 2 – 46” long hanging bars that can be placed in 6 different height positions. When using a modular insert, the 46” long hanging bars are removed and the insert is slid in via custom locking tracks. Each section features 2 color changing LED lights to emphasize the case contents. The lights can be positioned any way the user would like, and can change color. The top of each section also features HD recessed up lighting to illuminate the pipe & drape back drop of a convention center.
2 modular inserts were provided: a 8 compartment unit for t-shirts and a half width clothes hanging unit. These inserts are built from a combination of ½” white marine grade plastic and 3/8” clear Lexan. The sides and bottoms are constructed from white marine grade plastic to match the interior of the outer case. The top & all divided compartments are built from clear Lexan to allow light to pass through. The modular inserts can be used in the exterior case, or removed to be used as stand alone display units once at the show site. 6 routed in handles are provided to move the unit. The half width hanging clothes unit feature 2 – 20” hanging bars that can be mounted in 6 height positions.
The outer transport case features 2 drawers per side located underneath the hanging clothes sections. Each drawer is built from ½” Baltic Birch plywood, mounted on HD Accuride glides and finished with black textured coating. The drawer faces are finished with crushed glass black sparkle laminate. 1 drawer per side (2 total per case) feature 4 USB A charge ports, 2 USB C charge ports and 2 standard AC outlets for charging. This charging drawer is lockable.
Each side of the outer transport case features a 50” 4K monitor for digital signage. The monitor is mounted on a ¾” Baltic Birch board that is finished with white textured coating. Each board utilized position control friction hinges and gas springs to aid in raising and lowering the monitor. Though neutrally buoyant in the erected position, tethered T-pins are provided to prevent the monitors from falling during use. Signal to the monitor is handled by an HDMI and USB 3.0 cable run to each display. A 4x4 HDMI matrix is provided to allow 1 video source to be displayed on both monitors or independent operation. Video input is handled by a custom box on the back of each section. Each box features a USB 3.0 jack that is routed directly to the monitor and an HDMI jack that feeds the matrix. A courtesy power outlet is provided for a laptop or playback device. The main power source for the exterior case is provided by a retractable 30ft reel which eliminates the need to carry a separate extension cord to power the case.
The case exterior is built from ½” plywood laminated with black ABS plastic. The case features 24 deep recessed handles and rides on 8 Colson 4” x 2” HD casters.
