Broadcast CCU / Switcher Rack Flypack
This custom ENG broadcast rack case was built for Panavid. The case features an upper 12RU rack section with rear mounted storage drawers, a CCU/PTZ controller drawer and rear mounted 12RU rack section.
The top of the case features a 12U rack section with 12” of rack depth designed for preview monitors and scopes. To the right of the top rack is a 1RU section that is orientated perpendicularly for a ClearCom base station. Behind the top rack are 3 storage drawers. All the drawers feature the same width and depth of 16” x 12.5” with variable heights. The top 1.75” tall drawer features a central static divider that splits the drawer in half left and right with 4 movable dividers on each side. The middle drawer features the same divider configuration with a 7.625” height. The bottom drawer is an open storage configuration with carpet lining and a 7.625” height.
The center of the case features a locking drawer designed to hold a Black Magic ATEM switcher and a Panasonic AW-RP120G camera controller. The drawer also features a 1U rack section for a router panel. A custom wrist rest is also provided. The drawer is built from ½” Baltic Birch and finished with black texture coating.
The bottom 12RU rack section features a 24” deep frame. The frame features 3 rail sets that can be moved along the 24” depth.
The exterior case is built from ½” plywood laminated with charcoal ABS laminate. The case rides on 4” Colson casters with the front 2 locking. The hardware includes 8 deep recessed handles and table legs mounted in the front & back lids.
