NY Jets Custom Coffee & Sewing Workstation
This case was designed for the New York Jets equipment management staff to be a mobile sewing workstation and coffee dispenser.
The coffee portion features a commercial grade Keurig coffee maker. The Keurig is mounted on a slide out shelf and is countersunk into a custom CNC cut bracket that contours the shape of the machine which prevents movement when the case is on the road. A piece of Crosslink foam gently keeps the Keurig in place via downward pressure when the machine is retracted in the case. Power is brought into the case and routed to the coffee maker via a retractable 30’ cable reel which eliminates the need for a separate power cable. There are several storage features specific to the K-Cups used; 3 drawer with custom inserts designed to store 80 cups each and a small wire rack next to the Keurig.
While a power wasn’t provided for a sewing machine, the bottom right drawer was designed specifically store a Singer 4411 sewing machine and one drawer includes small dowels for thread.
All drawers are built into a ½” plywood inner shell. This shell is isolated from the trunk exterior and allows the drawers to be protected from any impacts or stress to the outer shell. Each drawer is built from ½” Baltic Birch plywood, mounted on HD Accuride glides, and is finished with black textured coating. All the drawers are lined with black carpet and feature dividers constructed of ½” marine grade plastic.
Additionally, there is a 43.5 x 25 x 6.25 storage compartment above all drawers and the coffee station. This compartment is lined in easy to clean marine grade plastic.
The front removable lid features two sets of table legs. The trunk’s exterior is built from 1/2” plywood laminated with forest green ABS. The trunk uses deep recessed latches and hardware and rides on 4” casters.
