Portable E-Gaming Integrated Tour Case (Xbox X / PS5)
This portable gaming system was built for Showtime Sound. The custom flight case features a 55” Sony TV mounted on an electric lift, Presonus sound system, Xbox X, Playstation 5 and a Roku integrated in a fully turnkey portable package designed for artist’s green rooms.
The system is based around a Sony 55” 4K TV mounted on a motorized lift. The lift can be controlled via a wireless remote or via a toggle switch mounted on the system’s main control panel. The TV handles video input switching and an overall control over the sound system. Using the TV as the center piece allows non-technical users to operate the system with ease as it is similar to most home set ups. The Xbox X and PS5 are mounted in custom built drawers with form fitting brackets to keep the consoles in place during transport. The gaming controllers are held in custom stands. These stands can accommodate either the Xbox or PS5 controller interchangeably. A custom foam insert is provided for the Roku controller.
A 7 space rack section is provided for the system’s control equipment. A 2RU Penn Elcom drawer is provided for miscellaneous storage. Power is brought into the system via a custom modified Tripp Lite RS1215 that was outfitted with a front mounted Powercon input jack. The RS1215 provides 6 courtesy front & rear mounted outlets. A Furman M8s power sequencer is also provided allowing the system to power on and off in a time delayed order to prevent damage or “popping” the speakers. The sequencer is triggered by a large Siemens 30mm industrial green button. Once the system is powered on and operational, a matching Siemens 30mm indicator light illuminates. A custom 12awg HD Powercon/Edison AC cable is provided for system power.
The system features a LM Tour Systems mobile entertainment center control panel. This panel holds the aforementioned power sequencer controls in addition to a Leviton courtesy outlet that has 2 AC outlets in addition to 2 USB A ports for charging. In addition to the courtesy outlet, the panel also features 5 USB A ports for charging the controllers and other devices. A HDMI and USB A 3.0 jack are also located on the panel for easy access to the TV’s jacks. A stereo line level audio output is provided should the need to feed a larger sound system be required. An 1/8” Aux jack is also located on the front panel, A LM Tour Systems HD 10’ aux cable is provided.
The audio system is based around Presonus studio monitors. Presonus Eris E8 speakers handle the full range audio. 2 Presonus Temblor T10 subs are run in stereo to enhance the low end. The audio system is controlled with a DBX Zone Pro processor. The Zone Pro handles EQ, time alignment, and in/out routing of the system. The audio system is hidden behind a ½” marine grade plastic front fascia panel. Custom expanded metal grills were created to protect the speakers during use.
The exterior road case is built from 3/8” plywood laminated with black ABS plastic. The case features a removable front lid that protects the electronic elements. The case features a separate hinged compartment for the TV. This allows quick access to the electronic elements. The TV is protected via a ½” marine black plastic removable vented panel. The exterior case features deep recessed hardware and rides on 4” casters.
