Baltimore Orioles Scout Trunk
This trunk was designed to hold computers and back up drives used for scouting by the Baltimore Orioles. The trunk holds 6 laptops, 2 Ciphertex CX-10K-NAS storage servers, 4 Black Magix converter boxes, network switch. 2 Lacie 5Big Network 2 hard drives and a HP Office Jet 100 printer.
The top portion of the trunk holds the 2 Ciphertex storage arrays, 6 laptops, the network switch and Black Magic converter boxes in custom CNC cut foam inserts. A removable cover is mounted in front of the top storage compartment to protect the gear while it is in use.
Below the top electronics section are two drawers: the top drawer holds the 2 Lacie 5Big Network 2 hard drives and the HP printer in custom CNC cut foam inserts. The bottom drawer features 2 dividers that split the drawer into thirds for general storage. The drawers are built out of 1/2" Baltic Birch and mounted on HD Accuride glides.
The exterior is built out of 3/8" plywood laminated with black ABS plastic and features table legs in each lid, deep recessed handles, Colson 4" casters and custom 2 color silkscreens of the Baltimore Orioles logo.
